Why does the Omnego powered mobile app require a new user to enter a mobile phone number and a password?

  • The Omnego solution utilizes the mobile phone number as a unique identifier for a loyalty or membership purpose. It is the most unique identifier for a mobile user, typically lasts longer than an email address and is easier to type into the registration process.
  • The password is used to more securely identify a user and to ensure that a user is who they say they are in the event that mobile wallet content must be reloaded.
  • The password is used to encrypt your cards, coupons and any content stored in an Omnego powered mobile app or our servers in the cloud.
  • Securing your credentials is a top priority. Someone would not only have to know our 256 bit encryption algorithms, but they must know your password to access your data.
